]]> Summer is looming, which means it is time to start thinking about perking up your patio! A patio should be an outdoor extension of your home, serving as a place for relaxation and space to enjoy the beautiful spring and summer weather. 

Patio furniture is not inexpensive, so one of the easiest and most versatile ways to update your outdoor furniture is by swapping out old cushions for new ones. Whether your cushions just need a simple fabric update or need a full-replacement due to years of wear & tear, The Foam Shop has solutions for you.

Finding replacement cushions that fit your patio furniture can be intimidating. All you need to do is provide The Foam Shop team with your furniture dimensions to size foam and accompanying cover to ensure the cushions fit together.

Protect moisture buildup in your cushions

Unpredictable weather and sudden spurts of rain, especially damp climates in British Columbia, can leave you worrying about your patio furniture getting moldy and damaging your seats. 

No sewing machine required

    • With the addition of special hours and new operating policies aimed at keeping our customer’s and team member’s safe, The Foam Shop will remain open during the Covid-19 pandemic.

    We have been busy helping numerous local healthcare facilities increase their available beds and have added a number of incline wedges to help properly support and improve the breathing ability of their patients.

    We are also helping many of our customers who are self-isolating or physically distancing at home, get a little more comfortable. Whether it’s with a new a mattress topper, sofa cushion replacements, or medical support wedges and bolsters. We’re here to make your life a little more comfortable.

    Here are a couple FAQ’s

    Can I buy your products online?
    Yes, many of our products are now available through our eStore. Our customers find it easiest to order online and then pick up their order at the closest store, however delivery is also available for those who need it.

    Can I place my order by phone?
    Certainly. We are happy to help you find the right comfort solution by email or phone. This way we can prepare your order before your visit and have it ready for pickup when you arrive.

    Can I still come into your store to place my order?
    Yes you certainly can. We have put in place a customer limit in each of our stores to make sure each customer remains safely distanced.

    What are your new hours?
    During this time, our stores are open Tuesday through Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm. Only our Burnaby store and warehouse remain open Monday through Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm.  All our stores are closed Sundays and holidays.

    Additionally, our Surrey store is temporarily closed during this time.

    Dear Foam Shop customers,

    You may have heard media coverage of a recently settled class-action lawsuit involving 12 manufacturers of flexible polyurethane foam being involved in price fixing. These manufacturers have agreed to a settlement that will compensate consumers who have been overcharged for their purchases of products containing flexible polyurethane foam – including sofas, mattresses and carpet underlay – between 1999 and 2012.

    What does this mean to me?

    As a valued Foam Shop customer, we want to notify you about the opportunity you have to receive compensation of $20 Cdn or more from this settlement against the manufacturers.  If you purchased flexible polyurethane foam from us – or any other retailer of North American poly foam – during the 1999-2012 period, the foam you purchased was likely manufactured from one of the participants of this settlement.

    How is The Foam Shop affected by this lawsuit?

    Like you, our customers, The Foam Shop has also been negatively affected by this price-fixing activity. Similar to you, we’ll be taking action by submitting a claim to the Foam for Cash campaign, hoping to receive compensation for overpaying for the poly foam products we’ve purchased from these North American manufacturers and resold during this 14-year period. As a long-time family business, we believe in and practice ethical business practices and appreciate the opportunity to receive compensation for these illegal activities.

    What is “flexible polyurethane foam”?

    Flexible polyurethane foam is one of the most common types of foam produced and used in Canada. It’s a safe, versatile type of padding used for everything from mattresses and sofas to love seats and carpet underlay.

    Next steps to receiving compensation

    If you’ve purchased this type of foam in any form during the timeframe in question, The Foam Shop encourages you to go to the www.foamforcash.com website to find out more of the details of the process and apply for compensation directly. This site is part of the Foam for Cash campaign launched by four law firms leading these class actions, along with a Canadian consumer advocacy group.

    IMPORTANT: You must submit your claim by the Feb. 6, 2018 deadline in order to be reimbursed.

    Can The Foam Shop help me with my claim?

    In order to apply for compensation, consumers will be required to submit a proof of purchase or a photograph of the tag of each foam product for which they’re making a claim. If you’ve purchased flexible polyurethane foam or a product made from this type of foam from The Foam Shop since 2007, we may have a copy of your receipt on file. As a company, we began computerized order entry for our customers in 2007 so can typically provide you with a receipt for any purchases made since then. For purchases made from 1999 – 2007, we’re likely unable to provide you with a receipt for your purchase. We apologize for any potential inconvenience but encourage you to go to the www.foamforcash.com website for more information on how you may be able to make a claim without having a purchase receipt.
